Need to reinstall your server? No problem—just follow this guide carefully. But before you dive in, take a deep breath, grab a coffee (or something stronger), and read the warnings. This process is serious business. Let’s get started.
Go to the panel and pick the server you want to reinstall. Before you click that shiny reinstall button, ask yourself: “Do I need anything from this server?” If the answer is yes, download it or make a backup right now.
WARNING: Without a backup, this process is permanent. There’s no cancel button, no undo, no magic CTRL+Z. Your only saving grace is a backup, and if you didn’t make one… well, that’s on you.
Once you’re sure you’re ready, head to Settings (usually under the General tab of your server). Click “Reinstall”. The system will ask you to confirm.
This is your moment of truth. If you’re absolutely certain, click “Yes, reinstall server.” If you’ve suddenly remembered you forgot to back something up, click Cancel and take care of that first.
The reinstallation process can take anywhere from a few seconds to a few minutes. If you’re reinstalling a Steam-based server and it’s been over an hour, it’s probably stuck. In that case, submit a support ticket, and we’ll step in to save the day. 🦸‍♂️
Once reinstalled, your server will return to its stock configuration. However, not everything is wiped—some folders, like the Minecraft mods or plugins folders, may still be hanging around if they weren’t part of the server’s original setup.
If you’re reinstalling a Minecraft server, keep in mind it might revert to a stock vanilla server. You’ll need to use the version changer again to get it back to your preferred setup. Don’t know how? Check out our guide here: How to Use the Version Changer for Your Minecraft Server.
Reinstalling can fix a lot of issues, but it’s not a magical solution to every problem. Make backups, follow the steps, and if all else fails, reach out to our support team. We’ll help you out (and try not to roast you too hard for forgetting to back up).
Good luck, and may the reinstall gods be ever in your favor. 🙏
